• PORTAL BY JOSEPH / 3D SCAN

For PORTAL BY JOSEPH, 15 selected styles from JOSEPH’s Autumn/Winter 2019 collection were 3D scanned using 153 cameras. In production, we collaborated with CyberHuman Productions, one of the leading Japanese photogrammetry studios, and created highly realistic fashion models for AR apps.

  • Commitment to quality

One of the most important elements of PORTAL is its realism. The 3D models in PORTAL should look like real fashion models to create an immersive experience. Our goal was to make every texture and wrinkle of fabrics feel real. We Closely collaborated with the 3D modeling team and the brand team for meticulous adjustments and quality check; we achieved a convincing quality no matter from which angle you looked at the models.

  • Pursuit of optimization involving the entire team

For this project, we aimed to create a lightweight, comfortable experience while maintaining the visual quality within the limited computing power of mobile devices. The 3D modeling team and the engineering team worked closely together to optimize the number of vertices, modify model textures, and find proper lighting settings on Unity. As a result, we achieved the optimal balance of visual quality and lightweight-ness, and we could show 7 models of the ideal quality at the same time with no drop in the frame rate.
